Overview
As a Prime Sales Trader on the Institutional Prime Trading team, you will help grow one of Coinbase's most strategically important businesses by delivering execution and liquidity solutions to sophisticated institutional clients. Clients include asset managers, hedge funds, venture capital firms, family offices, pensions, and endowments across crypto-native and traditional finance.
What You'll Do
- Drive increased trading volume by understanding client liquidity needs, identifying how high-touch and low-touch execution services can meet those needs, and providing real-time execution support and market color.
- Build and maintain trusted counterparty relationships through quality execution, daily market updates on liquidity and flow themes, and consistent service delivery.
- Partner with Sales, Financing, and Account Management teams to identify, onboard, and monetize new client relationships across Coinbase's institutional product suite.
- Provide structured feedback from clients and the broader market to institutional Product Managers, guiding product development across spot trading and financing.
- Maintain a real-time understanding of market sentiment, trading activity, and client positioning and keep relevant internal teams informed.
Required Skills and Experience
- Three or more years of sales and/or trading experience in digital assets, foreign exchange, equities, credit, or derivatives at a top-tier institution, including direct daily execution and settlement experience.
- Strong options trading capability, including pricing, hedging, and risk management of vanilla and/or exotic structures, with fluency in Greeks, volatility dynamics, and options market microstructure.
- Proven ability to build and maintain counterparty relationships with institutional clients.
- Experience producing institutional-grade market commentary or client communications covering macro, crypto, or digital asset themes.
- Weekend availability is required because the schedule includes Saturday and Sunday as working days.
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to produce business-ready work and measurable workflow improvements.
