To improve coverage for a round-the-clock DevOps team, we currently have a strong preference for candidates who can work in the Americas timezone.
Sigma Prime is looking for a self-driven DevOps engineer to help build, automate, operate, and improve infrastructure for Ethereum network development, testing, and production systems.
You will work closely with developers building core decentralised infrastructure, supporting everything from local test environments to high-performance production systems.
This role is centred around reliability, automation, operational ownership, and long-term infrastructure design. We are looking for someone who enjoys improving systems, reducing operational overhead, and building infrastructure that is reproducible and resilient.
This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced Ethereum researchers and engineers on critical infrastructure used across the ecosystem.
Sigma Prime is a blockchain security and distributed systems consultancy focused on securing critical decentralised infrastructure.
Since 2016, we have worked with many of the most prominent teams in the industry, delivering security assessments, protocol research, design consultancy, and specialist engineering services across complex Web3 systems, distributed protocols, zero-knowledge systems, infrastructure, and smart contracts.
We are also the creators and maintainers of Lighthouse, an Ethereum consensus client used by roughly 40% of the network.
You will help build and maintain infrastructure used for Ethereum network development, testing, monitoring, and production systems.
Our work requires both small-scale and large-scale network testing under a variety of real-world conditions. You will create tooling, automation, observability systems, testnets, and deployment infrastructure that help developers validate software behaviour and identify issues early.
Beyond operating infrastructure, we are looking for someone who actively improves it. We value engineers who identify fragile or repetitive processes and turn them into reliable automated systems.
Candidates with extensive DevOps experience but limited blockchain experience will still be considered. However, enthusiasm for Ethereum and decentralised systems is essential.
We provide high-level strategic guidance and constructive feedback, but we do not micro-manage. Candidates must be comfortable owning their day-to-day work, identifying problems, proposing improvements, and driving tasks to completion without waiting for detailed instructions.
We are especially interested in people who notice fragile or repetitive processes and turn them into reliable automated systems.
Candidates should be willing to rotate being on-call for infrastructure issues and outages.
Candidates must be proficient in technical conversations in English, both written and verbal. Perfect English is not required.
No jerks or bullies.
