About the role
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of ChainSafe’s infrastructure, with a specific focus on supporting the Filecoin ecosystem. You will work across cloud and bare-metal environments, managing containerized stacks on Linux and supporting production operations.
In this role, you will implement automation, monitoring, and incident response strategies. You will collaborate closely with our internal Forest team to help bring the Rust-based Filecoin client to new heights. This role also includes engaging with the open-source community to optimize infrastructure operations and proactively contribute to solutions across the Filecoin ecosystem.
Responsibilities
What will you be doing
- Build and maintain tooling to support the Filecoin ecosystem and related infrastructure
- Oversee globally distributed environments, identify issues, and optimize performance based on ecosystem needs, emphasizing implementing cost-effective and efficient solutions
- Implement automation efforts around builds, deployment, and observability
- Work directly with our internal node development teams to support resolving issues
- Design, implement, and document procedures related to infrastructure operations
- Participate in our on-call rotation, responding promptly outside of business hours
- Collaborate with the wider community to expand and evolve infrastructure architecture based on data insights, Filecoin research, and broader ecosystem developments
Requirements
- Practical knowledge of at least one programming language
- Demonstrable experience with modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and CI/CD best practices
- 3+ years of experience in the following:
- Managing resources in either AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Implementing observability and incident response best practices
- Administering and maintaining Linux hosts
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to document and convey clear technical details
- Ability to work autonomously as well as with the wider team in a remote setting
As a plus:
- Experience with Filecoin or similar decentralized storage networks is strongly preferred
- Practical knowledge with Golang, TypeScript, Solidity, or Rust
- Experience running blockchain nodes or validators
- Experience using Terraform, Helm, Ansible
- Experience working with bare metal
- Understanding at least two of the following domains: Web Security, Web3 Security, Cloud Security, Systems Security, and Applied Cryptography
- Timezone compatible to EST/CET is a strong plus
